Pre-Wedding Shoot Locations in Solapur: 6 Places That Photograph Well
Solapur isn't the first city couples picture for a pre-wedding shoot, which is why the backdrops feel fresh. These are the places that give a photographer the most to work with, and when to go.
Siddheshwar Lake and Temple
The temple sits in the middle of the lake, and the lake has three entrances into the inner courtyard. It's the city's most photographed landmark. Go at sunrise, before the heat and the crowds. It's a place of worship, so dress modestly and ask before photographing inside the courtyard.
Bhuikot (Solapur) Fort
Old stone walls, wide steps and long shadows. The fort dates back to the 14th century, and records say Aurangzeb stayed here for some time. Early morning or late afternoon light is the sweet spot.
Ekrukh Hipparga Lake
About 15 km from the city, this is a combination of Hipparga Lake and the Ekrukh tank. Open water, quiet paths and good golden-hour light make it the easiest choice for a relaxed, candid session.
Kambar Talao (Moti Baug)
Locals know it as a bird-watching spot, with migratory birds in winter. Go early in the morning if you want soft light and a calm feel.
Naldurg Fort
About 45 km from Solapur, so plan a half-day. The distance is the cost, and the reward is a fort with almost no crowd.
Pandharpur and Akkalkot
Temple towns for couples who want a traditional look. Avoid Ashadi Ekadashi (June–July) in Pandharpur, when the town is packed.
Plan around the season. November to February is the comfortable window, with temperatures around 24–26°C. Summers are hot and semi-arid, so shoot at dawn. The Siddheshwar fair in January fills the lake area with crowds, so pick another week. Allow time for outfit changes and travel, and check whether a site needs permission before the day.
